You'll be happy to know that McGill users have access to the point of care tool UpToDate!
You can access UpToDate through the library's database page, or by typing UpToDate in the library's catalog. Make sure that you are either on-campus or connected to the VPN. Once in the database, create an account using your McGill credentials by clicking on the Register button in the top right corner. After creating and verifying your account, you will be able to log in from anywhere, including via the app designed for mobile devices.
Every 3 to 6 months, UpToDate will prompt you to re-verify your affiliation. Please note that this is not the same as simply logging in with your McGill credentials. It requires a full verification of your institutional access. To complete this verification, you must log in while connected to the McGill network, either on-site at McGill or remotely via the McGill VPN. Logging in through your hospital's network does not count as verification for this purpose.
