What is the difference between PubMed and Medline?

Answer

PubMed and Ovid Medline contain the same information. PubMed stands for "Public Medline" - it is the free, public facing version of Ovid Medline. While it's fantastic that PubMed is publicly available, it can be clunky sometimes to search in. Ovid Medline is a subscription based database, that contains the same information as PubMed but the "look and feel" of the database is different because it's hosted on a platform called Ovid. Searching in Ovid Medline allows for more precise control over your searches, which is important for creating reproducible and transparent research.
