The market cap for a company can be found in many different resources.

For individual stocks:

  • Google Finance  (most recent market cap)
  • WRDS - COMPUSTAT- Securities Daily (historical information- calculate manually by retrieving shares outstanding and price)
  • Bloomberg - Enter security ticker and DES<GO>
  • Eikon - Search for company profile
  • Mergent Online - Market caps are included in the top banner of the company profile, however these are updated less frequently than the other resources listed above.

For the total market cap of a country see:

  • Bloomberg (available in the Humanities/McLennan Library, 3rd floor (Room M3-53B)).
    • Type WCAP into the command line for a listing of market cap by country.
